The company also unveiled the Dudu Smart Walking Shoes, available for crowdfunding at a price of 179 yuan per pair.

It is understood that these smart walking shoes combine "smart technology, fitness, social interaction, and fashion," featuring built-in smart chips in the sole that can track various workout metrics, including distance, duration, calorie burn, pace, cadence, and pronation/supination.

Gudong's founder and CEO, Shen Bo, says that traditional sports equipment no longer meets the needs of today's users. According to data from the market research firm Euromonitor, China's sports footwear and apparel sales grew by approximately 12% in 2016, reaching 186.6 billion yuan, and are projected to climb to 269.6 billion yuan by 2021.

However, consumer satisfaction with sports equipment remains relatively low at present. According to CCSI monitoring data from early 2017, Chinese consumers expressed satisfaction levels below 50% for most sportswear items available on the market.
